****Good suggestions in the article.

I’ll always be down for a Thundercloud Club.

Cooking at home. Since the pandemic, but really since there arent any good lunch deals any more (RIP Downtown Burger’s $7 deal) I just make lots of whatever I’m making and eat well for subsequent lunches.

Thundercloud of course, also half pastrami from Otherside Deli, quarter muffaletta from Jason’s Deli, lots of things from Austin Java (breakfast quesadilla is big and a great deal, unlimited coffee is $2 if you eat in), P. Terry’s, some prepared food from Wheatsville, Rosa’s if you want to destroy yourself with Tex-Mex.

I think you’re likely to find people complaining about the prices at all these places based on the more expensive things on their menus, but there are plenty of affordable options if you pay attention

Which Austin Java are you liking? I had eggs benedict at the Menchaca location a couple weeks ago and it was kind of gross – slathered in a very poor hollandaise sauce. Maybe it was just a bad pick.

That’s the only one now, right? I’d never get eggs benedict there honestly, I stick to tacos, omelets, or burgers. Magnolia Cafe however, their presidio benedict is one of my faves

I’m a fan of Gus’s fried chicken. Their prices are still very reasonable for Austin. I think you can still get a plate for $11
