pilot study from 2015 was one of the first to look at the effects of meditation on IBS symptoms. The researchers found that after just nine weeks of meditating, IBS sufferers had drastic reductions in their symptoms—and this continued for three weeks after the meditation program ended.

Inflammation. Meditation regulates blood flow and oxygen availability. This is very only mildly effective for IBS. Diet and proper colonies of bacteria in the gut are far more effective.

If you’re not opposed to medication, cannabis is the most effective way to treat IBS. It works even with a poor diet. The best strain for this is Golden Goat. Also NYC Diesel and UK Cheese are fairly effective, followed by Strawberry Cough. If those aren’t available, look for strains with high CBN content. These are usually descendants of 1980s Afghani and Indian Cannabis Ruderalis strains.

Interestingly, these same strains are very effective for Autistic Spectrum difficulties.
