Penn State researchers found that the maximum wet-bulb temperature humans can endure is lower than previously thought — about 31°C wet-bulb or 87°F at 100% humidity — even for young, healthy subjects. The temperature for older populations, who are more vulnerable to heat, is likely even lower.

    yeah, i made a comment about this research awhile back and it’s bad, because the recent heat wave in india and pakistan is already an example of running up against the lower values described by this research. these values are going to probably be exceeded with regularity in the next few decades when heatwaves happen.
