Remember once in HS my history teacher told me something that was just so utterly correct for all the wrong reasons. “Democrats and Republicans agree on 97% of the issues, it’s the 3% that matters.” I think he was implying this was a good thing, like the cultural differences were worth focusing on and it was ok that they agreed on things like defense spending etc. Idk tho.
In fairness I was an edgy baby communist that year and he always heard me out. I told him I was interested in a few parties and he told me to stay away from the RevComs because they’re a cult. Makes me wonder if he’s a disillusioned former-communist himself.
