Funny thing is, that if you want to start a business in China, you will have to comply with a lot of regulations. But none of it will be the pointless red tape you get in America, which is designed solely to benefit existing corporations by shutting out potential competitors.

Most metal kids aren’t but there’s a small scene of incredibly based metal artists that sadly go under the radar because of the white supremacy and fascist aesthetic most popular metal encapsulates.

Like there’s a black metal band I like that has a rainbow album cover with an Islamic symbol and there entire existence is to piss off the black metal scene by being as pro queer, pro trans and not islamaphobic as they can.

There’s also another one I know where the song titles are like “incels and neckbeards are to be shot by revolutionaries” or something to that affect and their entire discography is a satirical shitpost but also slaps pretty damn hard.

Finally zeal and ardor do like anti Christian music through the lens of “why did slaves in America adopt the same religion as their slave masters? Surely they should be satanist?” Again to piss racists Christian Americans off. The singer is black american/Swiss for context who grew up in America so he has a lot to say about it from interviews I’ve seen.

I wouldn’t say any of those are communist but it’s the shining light in the fascist dark of metal to cling too.

I mean when your song goes “a good god is a dead one, a good god is the one that brings the fire” in like the sickest doom/chant metal vibe. It’s called “Blood in the river” if you interested.

Oh my god, class analysis of different media genres are so fascinating to me. Crazy just how consistent it is.

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh as a huge metal fan I hate the idea that disturbed are considered metal.

They are like edgy rock at best.

Like metal is full of reactionaries but disturbed are fucking shit and also barely metal.

Metalcore is their genre 🤮 (but the bad kind your dad grew to like after listening to that kerrang CD too much after you lent it to him)

I have loads more but those are my favourites currently.

Neuromonakh feofan (like russian “the prodigy” in terms of genre) have an entire metal album remix of their songs as well and nebo is a fucking banger but it’s all in Russian Cyrillic though so here’s a link to it: https://youtu.be/bTbfON5Xy60

It’s like a better version of self vs self by in flames and pendulum if you know that track.

Depends on what you are into. For me I’d say any decent tech-death band, like the ones you can find on the Odium Nostrum yt channel deserves your attention but it might not be your cup of tea which would be understandable. Still, try Ulcerate, last release is more accessible. I’m a big fan of black metal but there is still too much nazi shit there to encourage anybody to dive into that, thought Mare Cognitum, Spectral Lore, Yellow Eyes, Wolves in the Throne Room, Havukruunu are really worth trying (and not sketchy)

And if you liked Disturbed I bet you should like Kreator, Power Trip, Tool, Mastodon, Katatonia, Suicidal Tendencies, Windhand, Atheist.

  • Same here, but I am not sure I can ditch their older songs. The Infection is a song that saved me, and I still listen to it, like yesternight.

In the future I can listen to better stuff I guess. Its also a problem with Skillet, another band I love. Most bands tend to have a lib or virtue signal problem.

I try to not look into most musicians political or economic takes bc it’s usually super disappointing. One thing Socrates was right about is that artists and poets don’t know shit. They have great creativity, but that doesn’t mean they’re wise or smart, generally.

Esp with the war in Ukraine, it was like mandatory for artists to say whatever idiot take they could, mostly just falling in line with what’s the popular opinion. They’re money is on trial if they say the “wrong thing.”
