Honestly it’s not just men, it’s every Tesla driver. I live near the edge of a pretty wealthy neighborhood where probably 1/3 of the residents own a Tesla. I ride to work on a motorcycle, and when I lane split (legal in my state) I’m constantly almost getting hit by these fucking things. I routinely have people see me in their side mirror (yes, motorcyclists can see you looking at them) and they’ll purposely veer towards the next lane to “squeeze” the gap and prevent me from passing. About 70% of the time it’s a Tesla. They are quickly surpassing BMWs as my most hated car on the road.

It’s probably a hefty percentage of Americans at this point. Commuting sucks. shits expensive, its yet another avenue to waste working people’s time, money, health, and social and physical lives while also completely destroying the environment and any chance of concentrated communities or public transit. Throw that in with having to go to a shitty job or a school that’ll leave you more in debt than the amount your parents made in their lives coupled with the isolation and entitlement of a citizen of a global hegemonic empire and you’ve got yourself the bumper car country. Some of the most beautiful, varied, and giving landscapes on earth turned to tar to make the line go up.

It seems to me that Tesla drivers literally think they’re greener than any other vehicle. Including busses, trains, maybe even bikes based on how they treat those on the road.

Yeah no. Between the oldest, crappiest diesel busses and trains and the newest Teslas, public transit still wins handily. That old bus probably has fewer cumulative carbon emissions than the battery alone.

I’m sure they do too, but this article is about just men and how toxic masculinity relates to driving a Tesla
