I’m trying to get some life into this 3D Printing community. To kick off I would like to know what kind of 3D printer are you using. Reasons behind choice of certain brand, principle of printing (e.g FDM) etc. Perhaps description of the pros and cons of your specific printer.

I would avoid any creality devices like the plague, especially for an entry level experience. They are cheap, have little to no instructions, no quality control whatsoever, and require constant adjustment.

I am not a 3d printing expert by any means, but I’m technologically and mechanically capable enough to figure things like this out. Some parts just simply did not work, and I wasted hours adjusting the machines and slicer settings only to find failed print after failed print. I returned two of them and took a shot on an Artillery Genius which was less money. The experience was night and day. It is nearly fully assembled and you can nearly print right away, almost little to no adjustments needed. Night and day experience. This company actual has quality control, better base model features (glass bed, dual z axes, direct drive extruder) and of course a few minor drawbacks, to be expected at the price point. But it is quiet and the prints come out good, I’d start there. Some people swear by the creality line, but my experience was horrible; they were utter garbage.

Thanks for sharing. I’ve never used any Artillery product (or a Creality product for that matter) so I can’t really comment on the quality of it. What I can say is that 3D printer beginner, the main place where I look for reviews, thinks that Artillery products are very good and has in fact the Genius and the Sidewinder in his current print setup. So they must be doing something right at Artillery.
