Happy Bean Day
Nice! Thanks for the link.
I would genuinely be curious how that would go. Would they be killed out, or would they adapt and thrive?
When you move things, lift correctly (safety videos are online). I’m only 35, but because of all the moving I did in my 20s, without thought of safety, I have frequent lower back pain and it doesn’t take much to hurt it.
Gotcha.
I know Mental Outlaw had a video about powershell scripts to help reboot Windows 10
That might help speed it up and stop Windows from doing unnecessary background stuff and using resources
Seeing lots of excellent suggestions for general (7-zip, Notepad++, etc).
Foobar2000 is a good music player
I don’t know if it’s good, but I guess there is now a Lemmy Desktop app https://webcatalog.io/en/apps/lemmy/
I saw you said you use Plex. I assume you use Steam for gaming?
Is there any specific feature/use you want QoL improvements for?
Bomb Club on iOS (was on Android at one point)
So many good and bad names on the table. “Utah Venom” sounds awesome. “Utah Ice” on the other hand…
Afraid they packed over a year ago. This is the winner (I like it too, but I really want the dinosaur skiing to be somewhere)
Despite not seeing it on the character, my cats freckles help me understand why the orange cats nickname is Freckles in the comic and animated pilot of lackadaisy
This one does big grasshoppers and knows better. Last year he came in and my wife asked what was in his mouth, so he moved faster. She followed and caught him trying to hide the grasshopper.
Another of our cats (moonpie) brings birds and mice. Once came home to him licking a dead mouse on our bed with murder in his eyes.
Loving this chain. Also over 30. I get frustrated that what older generations used to spout about Millenials like me (lazy, don’t want to work, etc) gets spouted by my generation to gen z.
I’ve seen some Gen Z kids do some bad things, but I’ve also seen them do amazing things my generation would not have done.
As far as music, I love all the variety there is and all the mediums to listen to it now.
His freckle nose is adorable
Our cats like to bring grasshoppers in the house
Unfortunately the best catnip my cats liked my brother made at home and he has since passed away, so no catnip
I had forgotten about this game. It was a fun time. I think there was a Jungle Strike also
The last memory I have of Desert Strike going to a local video game and card game place (Heebeegeebees in Ogden, Utah before they expanded) with some of my siblings and buying this for some portable system (GBA?) and starting to play.
I then heard the owner (who was still in the shop back then) say “We can do this the easy way or the hard way”. It had transpired that one of my siblings had tried to steal something. Cops got called, fun times.
For those curious, the rumor was that the easy way was police and the hard way was him chasing you with a bat
It’s a problem even for those of us who are neurotypical (my son is not which is why I follow this community also, so as he gets older I can understand better).
But as someone said, bosses especially will say this and they really just want you to say it was your fault.
In my mind, the difference is if you are excusing the behavior.
“I’m sorry I’m late, I missed my alarm” is an explanation because I’m not excusing the behavior, just explaining.
“I’m late because my alarm didn’t go off” is an excuse because I’m asking to excuse the behavior.
That said, excuses seem to have this bad reputation as being just a reason for laziness, but they really shouldn’t as they can be valid.
Example, my work requires 2FA to log in, which I get via a text. I use a local carrier and “our vendor who handles texting went down”. In that sense, that was my excuse for being late getting logged in - and it wasn’t laziness.
