My name’s initials (NW) and a Chinese slang (西北風).
西北風 means north-west wind (translated by character, “west north wind”). Other than its meaning in weather, people would often use “eat north-west wind” (食西北風, Cantonese) or “drink north-west wind” (喝西北風, Mandarin) to mean running out of business.
I have been using this name ever since I learnt that diagonal compass directions in Chinese and English are flipped, like “west north” becomes “north-west” here.
This is done for the Code of Honor. Basically, to avoid patents being used against the gaming industry, video game companies file patents for a lot of different game design concept, so all developers can freely implement these mechanics without getting sued.
