Pole here: Poland joined for four reasons:
It is pretty much mandatory if you want to join EU (note that we had referendum about joining EU but nobody asked us if we want to join NATO)
You can always count on Poland trying to become western Europe, it’s a constant for over 1000 years by now, we join all institutions located there is possible. It’s also combined with massive inferiority complex.
Russophobia is alongside anticommunism the absolute ideologic pillar of current Polish state, it’s basically reflexive at this point. Fun fact: if anything, it’s a proof of how even in the 90’s NATO was clearly still aimed against Russia.
Last but not least, opportunism, NATO totally looked as the victor back then, hell it still looks like this when you’re in the bubble.
Yeah, it’s undoubtedly the idea behing this, especially looking at pretty clearly false results for Poland for example - idk who they asked but a lot of people here do have doubts, and the support for Ukraine is far from universal (it’s only universal in media and politicians but that’s hardly surprising considering how they are the keepers of the polish information bubble) - as you could observe few months ago when pro Ukrianian manifestations were attended by merely few dozen thousands people in entire country. Which for something that was organized and supported by vast array of central and local government institutions is truly pathetic.
But they still admitted that not everyone is supporting their propaganda, something that was unthinkable even few months ago when all antiwar protesters in Europe were proclaimed “Putin’s agents” by media.
I love how the liberals always cite digital goods and also all manners of digital scam as a proof marxism is obsolete “Marx did not predicted digital goods! Future! Capitalism finally works!”, while commies are telling them with slightly bored voices that not only it’s still applicable to everything but the digital goods when pondered about just a little show the complete nonsense of capitalism even more than physical ones.
Adding “and friends” somehow make that “analysis” even more infantile. Rest of what you wrote is again, pure propaganda identical in polish and USA media, completely ignoring history. Yes, that include “NATO bad also”, very old centrist technique to push leftists into the support of imperialism.
There is no “also”. Western imperialism is the prime contradiction now.
No, Putin is not the one responsible for this war. Firstly, reducting entire conditions and situation to “Putin want” is by itself completely infantile and should be full stop. Secondly, did you perhaps missed continous USA agreesion at Russia and Soviet Union since 1917 and the catastrophic turn of events after 1991 with numerous escalations by NATO expansion, aggressive manouver, military encirclements and coups/attempts in many countries bordering Russia?
This is what you won’t ever hear in polish media.
Compared to how much they spend on it and how much the people need to pay extra on top of what they already paid in taxes, they have pretty much least efficient healthcare on Earth.
Without even an excuse of living in a country that is extremely poor and wartorn (not to mention quite a lot of countries which are extremely poor and wartorn are like that because of USA in the first place).
But of course this detail will be omitted in loaded posts like OP. Consider the still active modus operandi of western shills:
“During the cold war, the anticommunist ideological framework could transform any data about existing communist societies into hostile evidence. If the Soviets refused to negotiate a point, they were intransigent and belligerent; if they appeared willing to make concessions, this was but a skillful ploy to put us off our guard. By opposing arms limitations, they would have demonstrated their aggressive intent; but when in fact they supported most armament treaties, it was because they were mendacious and manipulative. If the churches in the USSR were empty, this demonstrated that religion was suppressed; but if the churches were full, this meant the people were rejecting the regime’s atheistic ideology. If the workers went on strike (as happened on infrequent occasions), this was evidence of their alienation from the collectivist system; if they didn’t go on strike, this was because they were intimidated and lacked freedom. A scarcity of consumer goods demonstrated the failure of the economic system; an improvement in consumer supplies meant only that the leaders were attempting to placate a restive population and so maintain a firmer hold over them. If communists in the United States played an important role struggling for the rights of workers, the poor, African-Americans, women, and others, this was only their guileful way of gathering support among disfranchised groups and gaining power for themselves. How one gained power by fighting for the rights of powerless groups was never explained. What we are dealing with is a nonfalsifiable orthodoxy, so assiduously marketed by the ruling interests that it affected people across the entire political spectrum.” ― Michael Parenti, Blackshirts and Reds: Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism
In case of PiS you can count on it being both incompetence and malice.
