Jabba kinda looks like Elon in that meme I guess.
We still don’t have Proton Drive on Linux, and they think we give a flying fuck about some god damn AI chatbot slop machine?
This made me think of the Altered Carbon books, where some people intentionally get diseases for fun.
I still have nostalgia for stuff I listened to at 14. But I would say my music tastes solidified more around the age of 25. Fairly broad tastes in music depending on my mood. It’s easier to list bands and music I hate than everything I like. I suspect a lot of people are the same.
I was always skeptical about them being a thing in high school. At least at the scale portrayed in movies. But in college, yes. Had plenty of ragers with 100+ people. They were fun, and kinda terrible at the same time.
If it really has to have windows on it, than a relatively recent gen surface pro is probably the best.
I still have my surface pro 2 I got in 2013. It was fantastic at the time. I’ve since put fedora on it, and rarely use it, but it still works great.
I’m pretty sure that employee hates the whole situation as much if not more than you do.
On a similar vein, I don’t understand doctors who are young earth creationists. Your whole job is understanding biology.
As many comments pointed out already, in the USA we usually learn to play the recorder in 3rd grade. It’s not exactly an age where it makes any sense to try and learn how home mortgages work.
Though, I very much recall having some basic “personal finance” education in elementary school. It’s the age where you are learning about currency denominations. How many quarters, dimes, etc. to make a dollar.
When I was in high school we were all required to take an “Economics” class where they did try to cover balancing a checkbook and basics like that. I just don’t think most kids paid much attention. I know I didn’t.
I won’t argue against w’all. I’m fine with it in principle. But it’s not something I think I’ve ever said, or ever heard anyone say.
I don’t know, sounds like a way to paint a target on their own back. Especially if anyone working there are immigrants, documented or otherwise.
“Y’all”
I will die on the hill that it’s more efficient and neutral than the alternatives.
There was a guy I knew in college who insisted everyone call him “South.”
“Put some South in yo mouth!” was his constant catchphrase.
“proscribed organisation” was a giveaway for me. It just sounded like a British legal term that nobody would use here in the US.
Ain’t no open container laws when you’re drinkin’ claws.
You can fit 74 Germanys inside a Texas roundabout. The European mind cannot comprehend this.
Crazy how this meme is supposedly almost a decade old and this is the first time I’ve ever seen it.
I really enjoyed the show. Wish it got more seasons. I watched it long before reading the books. Yeah, I think the hotel as “poe” in the show was better than in the books.
