This “largely positive reception” links to their own article about their own reporter checking it out, which doesn’t mention any opinions from the public or other individuals.
The claim is they used Twitter “trade secrets”. What could those possibly be? The concept is obviously not a secret. Unless they used Twitter’s algorithm or something I don’t see how this doesn’t get thrown out immediately.
Also, how do they know Threads uses trade secrets? Have they decompiled the app… I thought that’s technically not strictly legal to do to a competitors program?
My money is on Twitter employees and core engineers.

This whole clown show is reminiscent of fake rapper beefs, which conveniently take place right before both parties are dropping (usually) mediocre albums.
