I’m willing to give this my best college try to code around.
Categorizing a particular user’s posts manually is far more work than its worth, but I also have a script for user-lookups that I might suggest adding as well.
Codebase is here: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy
I believe @db0 could use all the hope they can get. (I’ve been here forever and I still don’t know how [or if I can] tag users without exiting my comment to look them up)
You can mention people by writing the full usernamem like so @aihorde@lemmy.dbzer0.com . It will even autocomplete it. It works even without the markdown link. This is how this bot works, via mentions
@aihorde@lemmy.dbzer0.com draw for me a lemming tagging a wall
@aihorde@lemmy.dbzer0.com draw me a lemming tagging a wall with paint
Here are some images matching your request
Prompt: a lemming tagging a wall with paint
Style: stable cascade
@aihorde@lemmy.dbzer0.com please draw me a anthropomorphic lemming, wearing a beanie, using spray paint to tag a brick wall with graffiti

Maybe it’s my client but no auto complete happens as I type a username or community. I was hoping for a more reddit-like function where it drops down with suggestions as I type. I browse exclusively on mobile so it’s a minor hassle to save a draft, search for the user, and then go back to my comment to finish typing.
Like I said- a minor hassle.
