Highly recommend reading this April fools post and the many comments of people who thought it was real.

    This is amazing!

I’m honestly surprised a council would publish something like this that seems to directly attack the current government’s policies.

It’s something you might expect to read on The Civilian (which I now notice doesn’t exist anymore).

Greater Auckland is a transport advocacy group, they’re not associated with the council or AT.

Oh thanks! I’m not sure why but I got the impression this was the Auckland regional council.

It does sound like it could be, especially with the Wellington regional council being called Greater Wellington

Labour’s transport spokesperson wasn’t able to be reached, and it remains unclear if there even is one.

That was a great throwaway line.

The comment that cracked me up was the guy who said he supports the new policy to remove footpaths but now he wonders where he will park his Ford ranger.

There’s quite a few who were clearly playing along.

I like April fools, it’s good to remind numpties that they are, in fact, numpties.

I do think the article should have been shorter though, I was just skimming through at the end. Concise writing is a lost art.
