My first ever Lemmy post might as well be a self-promo, so here’s my just-released, totally free (no ads, no bs) game: Basic Biking.
It’s a two-button physics-based pedaling game where you try to reach the goal of each level as fast as you can, without hitting your head.
I think this is my fifth free game, made with Godot. Most of my games are local multiplayer games, as I’m really into those kind of games. Looking forward to seeing more and more gamedev posts here on Lemmy, and will be contributing to that.

I like the pixel art
Thanks! It’s mostly just curves and 2D polygons drawn at a low resolution that create the dynamic pixel art look.
I played it on my phone and I really like it. Nice music nice physics, fun details like you can crash to the trash can and have the lid close over your body lol
Thanks! I put some effort into making those details, even though it felt like it took forever, despite the game being short. The ultimate version of this game for me would include a level editor, but that would be a completely different project :—)
Looks cool! Will you open source the code and upload it to FDroid?
Thanks! I might dip my toes into open source in a future project. At the moment, I’m happy just releasing freeware games.
I love it. Also: really difficult when you’re drunk.
To be fair, it’s really difficult when you’re sober too
Yes, for most, it’s one of those hard to learn, hard to master games…
Thanks! :—)
Funny game. Reminds me of QWOP.
Thanks! QWOP was the first game that I thought of too, when playing the first prototype of this.
Looks very elastomania-like
Yes! I used to play Elastomania a lot :—) Also, there’s an Elastomania apple hidden in one of the tracks.
Thank you, I love these kind of games.
Thanks! I’m glad to hear that :–)
I found the controls intriguing at first, but then frustrating. I like alternating the pedals, but balance should be accelerometer/tilt based, and braking could be stronger if you press both pedals at once. Finally I think the crank could have a little more intertidal - I often got my cranks stuck vertically, where neither one really goes anywhere.
Nice ideas! Would make a fun game too - especially something accelerometer controlled with active ragdoll physics would be a fun challenge to develop, I think.
