Here’s hoping they get a closer view
That is seriously cool actually, I knew they spent a long time in the air, but it’s a different story to actually see it in action.
Amazing video actually.
US M795 does 22400 meter range at 830 m/s muzzle velocity. That’s 27 seconds minimum in the air, longer with drag.
Is that factoring in the ballistic arc, or a direct line?
Straight line, I think the arc is 1.41x longer.
There’s a video? I’m just seeing a still image.
I guess uploading through Boost doesn’t work for all instances? check out the comment from finlandia I think they added it for people of other instances
Tiny gif there yeah, but I can’t full screen or scrub. Your post is a still image with play button, like you screenshot the video.
On Voyager FWIW
Works for.me (Boost)
what’s this for?
The video wasn’t loading for me in Boost, but I just realized it’s because the link is gifv.
See below.

that’s interesting. it must have converted it without my permission because I was uploading an mp4. I think I’ll upload directly to imgur and post links moving forward, I appreciate you letting me know
Any estimates on the distance it traveled there? It looks so slow but I know it’s not.
so I took the muzzle velocity and the time, and asked chat GPT to adjust for wind resistance and it says this was probably about a 25 km shot. a 155 artillery piece can have a range of 40km with non-rocket assisted extended range ammo
So, I opened this message and my eyes first saw wind resistance and I thought I was about to get some measurements about an unladen swallow.
Soon enough I think you’ll just he able to give the video to chat gpt and tell it what kind of artillery it is and it’d work that out as well.
Thanks!
that was the issue, I don’t know exactly what 155mm was being fired, there’s all kinds
