This is a war crime, an attack on civilians. With the insidious plan of hitting people who came to help.
Russia is a terrorist state, that must be stopped.

    EDIT:
I am downvoted on this comment, maybe by someone who doesn’t know that double tap is in fact a strategy Russia is using, exactly to hit civilians coming to aid possibly wounded in the first hit.

double tap is in fact a strategy Russia is using

Hardly unique to the Russians. The “Collateral Murder” video of US war crimes in Iraq was from a helicopter employing a double-tap strategy on a group of civilians fleeing the area.

Also popular in Gaza and Lebanon, as employed by the Israelis. And in the Philippines, by the government against insurgents. And in India during the invasion of Kashmir. And by the Syrian and Turks in their war on ISIS. And, and, and…

Russia is a terrorist state, that must be stopped.

War is the act of committing crimes unimpeded. All states engaged in war are in the act of committing terrorism. When you hear people talk about “necessary evil”, this is the evil their necessitating.

        Whataboutism.

War is the act of committing crimes unimpeded.

Not true, there are consequences. Even if it takes time. When Russia loses, their war crimes will be prosecuted.

          Whataboutism

Are you arguing the double taps are bad because they’re war crimes or because they’re Russian?

When Russia loses, their war crimes will be prosecuted.

Double taps are bad no matter who does it.
And with regard to the war in Ukraine, I have not seen evidence that Ukraine target civilians and definitely not do double taps on civilians.

America is on the cusp of pulling out of the ICJ entirely

Maybe, but Putin is already a wanted man for his war crimes, so the leader of Russia cannot travel freely to international meetings.

Real talk: I would be 100% ok with NATO IADS units being stationed outside of major Ukrainian metro areas and infrastructure sites (e.g. power plants, hospitals, etc). Russia would bitch and moan, but they won’t actually do anything. Not to mention, it would be a purely defensive deployment. But it would also free up a lot of Ukrainian assets for more aggressive action against Russia.

Absolutely I agree. The only reason Ukraine isn’t in NATO was to be nice to Russia, in the hope of finding peaceful common ground.
Now that Russia has invaded Ukraine, despite promising not to, when Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons to Russia. There is no reason to show any considerations towards Russia, and we might as well help Ukraine end this on their terms.
Aiding in their air defense would be an amazing initiative IMO.

I think most NATO countries are coming around to that conclusion too, with Biden now stating USA wants to help Ukraine to win. AFAIK he has not said that so directly before.

I’m just kinda angry about the absolutely glacial pace, tbh. The lead up to the invasion was a masterclass in geopolitics. And the initial weapons grants were great and quite effective in terms of what could be given quickly. But dear fucking christ the degree to which Biden is tying Ukraine’s hands behind their back with all the fucking restrictions makes me kinda sick.

Maybe there was a Ukrainian commander in there or something using the other patients in the hospital as human shields.

This is sarcasm obviously. Civilians should always be protected
