I’ve been running this for years, and it’s great! One difference tho: I set mine up before any subscriptions for it existed, and before it had an account to log into. It actually talks via the local network

The free local api is still there, and according to the company isn’t going anywhere. You can probably find how to set it up online.
And… if you’re the kind of nerd that likes full control, the api is just an http based json thing. It’s rather easy to use
