Not having chargers was his fault. The wreck and the body shop wasn’t the trucks fault. The lack of chargers and chargers not working wasn’t the trucks fault. You don’t buy an EV for road trips to anywhere, you have to plan things out. It’s still frontier days. For driving back and forth short to moderate distances they should be great.

They are not the best road trip car but they do have their advantages. I’ve plugged up my ev at camp sites and slept in the car. It’s great.
This sounds like ‘victim blaming’.
Victim of his own ignorance, so what?
But Bala was quickly hit with the reality of owning and operating an EV soon after the purchase. The vehicle compelled him to install two chargers – one at work and one at home – for $10,000. To accommodate the charger, he had to upgrade his home’s electric panel for $6,000.
In all, Bala spent more than $130,000 – plus tax.
this is insane.
I bought the Tesla mobile charger for 230$
An electrician down the street installed a nema 15-50 output in my garage for 450$.
Total: 700$
some people already have the nema 14-50 port.
I don’t need a charger at work. Because I charge my car at home. Why is he installing Two outlets? And why does it cost so much?
Before I take a road trip I will use the super charger map https://www.tesla.com/supercharger
and I will bring my mobile charger with me. And it can charge at camp sites and in dryer outlets just fine.
Sound like propaganda, well done
Yeah it’s an interesting read through… Yahoo dot com.
The focal point of conservative propaganda.
God forbid there are pieces of news floating about that don’t laud Greta as the savior of mankind
They based it on a Fox News article though.
And so it’s bullshit for news media to write the account of a man screwed over by electric vehicles because you don’t like it, right
And it’s bullshit for conservative media to exist…
And it’s bullshit for a conservative instance to exist
Lol
I never said any of that.
The reasons this guy had a bad EV experience are either unrelated to EVs or due to lack of knowledge on how they work.
The fact that Fox was the original source of the article information isn’t surprising. Fox has a conservative bias. Conservatives don’t like EVs. The sky is blue. The Earth turns. Life goes on.
I am not a fan of EVs but I believe they would be useful if you understand their limitations and if they are more affordable.
I’m not saying it’s propaganda. To me it’s equivalent to hearing a quack and expecting a duck. I read a negative article about EVs and expect it may be a conservative-leaning source.
I think there was some lean in CNN and definitely in NPR. NPR does some great stuff but on certain subjects you know what their angle will be. CNN isn’t going to be as left-leaning any more now that John Malone is in charge. YMMV I just know what my experience and view is, yours may differ.
Who is #JohnMalone? I would haven given #CNN another shot but they made the disastrous choice of having #KaitlanCollins interview #Trump for a town hall, and on top of that giving her her own show, and she’s probably the worst personality they’ve had on the network since #JimAcosta.
OK, but how is this not legitimate news? At the very least it has informed people of how many hidden costs can accompany buying an EV, and has also shown the potential problems with taking road trips.
Perhaps it is even more specific to EV trucks.
