What’s the point of having a shove if you don’t use it to it’s upmost potential?
The fact it’s a bonus action instead of an action is pretty stupid though. Sometimes its the best choice you have, but there’s also no reason to not take it and an attack. In D&D normally you have to make a choice between it or an an attack.
Nothing gets me excited in this game like sneaking up behind some asshole standing on the ledge of a cliff, or a roof, or whatever and just putting my shoulder into them.
But nothing pisses me off more than sneaking up and trying to push them off unnoticed but my character somehow fucks it up despite being a foolproof action.
I do hate that, and some NPCs seem to be able to knock me clear across the room off a cliff but none of my characters seem to be able to do more than push them back half a step.
Trying it out while they’re standing on ice doesn’t seem to make me any luckier, either. I’ve only been playing for
most ofthree days or so, but I’ve never once had an enemy fall over on bad terrain and I really feel like this should be having more of an effect on how likely a shove is to work. The only thing I’ve managed to do is make myself fall. Three times. Twice in what was one very difficult battle already. Like the stooges.
If you choose to piss into nature while standing at the edge of a cliff, my druid isn’t going to take kindly to that
