I know someone that thinks tankies are allies against American imperialism, and they say that any movement to the left is better than capitalism, even if it’s Russia or CCP branded leftism. They say that nothing that Russia or CCP has done is worse than what American imperialism. This all came up after I mentioned the tankie triad, and they said they were subscribed to multiple communities on there and didn’t disagree with what they were seeing on there. Let me know if there’s a better place to ask or if there’s any other threads or resources I should refer them to. I will be forwarding this thread to them, so your help would be greatly appreciated.

        Weird how these people assume we are all in some war room planning an invasion of their spaces.

        For any onlooking libs:

        • Lemmy devs started .ml as a general purpose server. They are Marxists, and moderate it how Marxists would moderate a public discussion space. It only became more explicitly Marxist once .world became the defacto default after incoming libs couldn’t tolerate using a server run by Marxists.
        • Lemmygrad was their actual Marxist project. This is their safe space for discussion without libs shouting at everyone all the time. It allows the devs to be more lenient moderating the general purpose server.
        • Hexbear is a completely orthogonal project that spawned after r/chapotraphouse was banned from reddit. We initially ran a forked version of Lemmy and couldn’t federate.

        I literally don’t think there are any actual coordinated projects to increase Marxist influence on the fediverse. This is all a delusion of people who cannot handle the concept that other people exist that actually disagree with them. If we ran a propaganda farm, it would 100% be using accounts on a general purpose or “free-speech” instance.

        We have sorta reached the conclusion that the best propaganda is just posting good shit amongst ourselves, keeping our spaces safe from bigots and turbolibs, then letting your obnoxious complaining advertise for us. Libs are the ones who believe obnoxiously intruding with your unwelcome opinions is praxis.

        Cowbee and Yogthos do some good ambassador work independently though.
