It is funny that regular Kira seemed to be straight as an arrow while Mirror Universe evil Kira was super bi and horny all the time.
someone can probably make the point that lgbtq+ stuff was somehow being used as a marker for EVIL in those plotlines but evil kira is so outrageous i wouldn’t be able to take it seriously. its just too funny. all the mirror universe characters are straight out of a saturday morning cartoon.
so to bring balance to the world maybe evil garak is straight
I know they wanted Garak and Bashir to be openly gay, and they wanted more LGBTQ stuff in the show, but they were denied by Rick Berman and some other higher ups. They could have made the evil characters super gay sarcastically, like as a subtle protest.
Mirror Worf literally keeps Mirror Garak with him at all times with a collar on his neck, attached to a chain that Mirror Worf carries.
