Like I understand where they’re coming from, to a casual observer who has little experience with the genre it can seem like fetish content for a straight, predominantly male audience, but 1. that’s literally not what it is and 2. the line between fetish content about someone and fetish content for that same someone is actually very fucking thin.

generally, yuri isn’t popular with gay women. there’s other genres that cater to that demographic. I think it’s the emphasis on “girl” – it’s got serious :libertarian-approaching: tendencies. like I really wanted to like Adachi and Shimamura, something that was so cute on the surface but the literal fucking panty shots of 13 year olds made that impossible.
