I really hope the manufacturers don’t just make EU versions of phones cuz I bet this wouldn’t pass in the US
I doubt something like that will happen because it would only complicate designing they products etc. They would also lose their arguments about “safety” and shit. But it absolutely wouldn’t surprise me if that happened because it’s corporations that we are talking about.
Replaceable batteries, and a software toggle:
- Prioritize Battery Health
- Prioritize Short-Term Capacity
the top section of this image has made me suddenly very paranoid about the way i am treating my phone.
there is no way i can afford a new one… this one’s got to last!!
You probably don’t want to hear about 20% to 80% rule: “This rule says that when charging your phone’s battery, you should only charge it between 20% and 80%. In other words, you should never let your phone’s battery go completely dead (below 20%) or completely full (over 80%).”
i was under the impression that “new battery technology” had us done with that sort of thing? tis a bummer because i don’t really see how i can wake up in the middle of the night to unplug the thing.
but i really appreciate the advice. i am definitely interested in extending my battery life. 👍
