Also, this is misleading. If there are items on the ballot you can DIRECTLY vote for, like legalizing weed or keeping abortion legal, the it does make sense to vote. I don’t think anyone is trying to argue that it doesn’t matter in those situations.

The trouble is that it’s not uncommon for these proposals to pass only to not be implemented via neglect and foot dragging. Its happened in multiple states with cannibis. Other times the structures that enable these proposals to be on the ballot get dismanted.
Their solution to this? Vote D. All roads lead back to the candidates.

Yup. That’s true. But I wouldn’t feel bad about casting a vote in favor of a direct policy like that.
I just did that now. Voted in favor of abortion and then voted for whatever socialist candidate for the hell of it
