    The war in Gaza began last October when Hamas and its allies committed widespread atrocities in Israel before retreating into underground tunnels to escape a devastating Israeli counterattack that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians.

    Oh, Hamas started the whole thing, did they?

    The Israeli military employed a similar practice, known as the “neighbor procedure,” in Gaza and the West Bank in the early 2000s.

    Maybe they’re referring to the current form of the conflict but i think this wording is disingenuous, to say the least.
