Lesbian, gay and bisexual U.S. veterans had significantly higher odds for prevalent atherosclerotic CVD compared with their heterosexual peers, according to findings published in the Journal of the American Heart Association.

      The hypothesis I’d explore (feel free to give me the funding!) would be that the societal pressure and stresses of being lesbian, gay, or bi in the US (let alone in the armed forces) would be the culprit. We already know that stress increases your chances of heart disease, so that’s where I’d look first. But that’s a scientific wild-ass guess.
