Turns out, people don’t like 7-minute “episodes” for RWBY that take years to come out between them. Who would have thought?! Stupid ass studio wasted so much god damn potential…
RWBY hasn’t had 7 minute episodes in many years. They were short the first couple seasons but kept growing. Pretty sure last season they were normal episode length.
Episode 115 was 15 minutes. 15 minutes is not normal episode length. 24 minutes is.
In all of their seasons, only like 6 episodes ever reached that length; and they were usually the season finale. A season-fucking-finale…barely making standard episode length…
Still ain’t 7 minutes either. Although, I don’t think length matters much. If it did, all hour length shows would be great. In many ways, I liked the shorter episodes. I could sneak one or two between things I was doing.
Length truly does matter a ton. Every single episode I was left with a feeling of “wait…THAT’S IT?!”. And someone mentioned elsewhere, and something I forgot to account for: We lost Monty Oum. I really wish he had written down somewhere how he wanted the show to progress.

The time between seasons hurts though.

I think losing Monty really hurt the series. I only watched a season or so after he left and it felt like they weren’t really sure how to go forward.
Good point, I forgot that we lost him. Holy shit that was in 2015…I could have sworn it happened in 2020.
I tried powering through, but it got worse and worse. The last thing I watched was when Qrow

got Clover killed by teaming up with Tyrian.
It was very out of character, and it just wasn’t believable that someone as experienced as Qrow would do something so stupid.
