Conditions were damp and greasy but drying. The track was declared wet I believe, not everyone ran slicks.
Lewis lost the rear in his Mercedes at Stowe, gently pirouetting into the gravel, but driving it back onto the track with no visible damage.
Magussen lost power in his Haas at the exit of Stowe red flagging the session temporarily.
Somehow Verstappen drove his Red Bull into the pit wall and crushed his front wing when pulling out, claiming unexpectedly low grip and understeer.
For a few seconds as the final laps crossed the line, Williams were P1 and P2, which was wild while it lasted.
Bottas lost power in the closing seconds, but did so past the start/finish line on the final lap, do didn’t affect the results.
Perez is absolutely falling apart, failing to advance. If memory serves, this is now 5 consecutive races where Verstappen has gotten pole and Perez has failed to make Q3.
In an unusual turn of events, Norris lead the Q1 timing charts as the clock ran out with a 1m29.052s.
Q2:
With 10s left on the timer, Norris was P1 and Albon was P2, though they’d be overtaken in the final seconds.
There was some kind of weird moment of Ocon going wheel to wheel with Stoll and locking up as.they jockeyed for track position to start a flyer.
No time for Bottas after his engine issues at the close of Q1.
Piastri, Norris, Albon were 2-4 as the session wound down.
Q3:
Norris took provisional pole on the final lap before getting piped by Verstappen by ~2 and half tenths.
But still a front-row start for lando, with teammate Piastri right behind in third.
