Setting aside the usual arguments on the anti- and pro-AI art debate and the nature of creativity itself, perhaps the negative reaction that the Redditor encountered is part of a sea change in opinion among many people that think corporate AI platforms are exploitive and extractive in nature because their datasets rely on copyrighted material without the original artists’ permission. And that’s without getting into AI’s negative drag on the environment.
Tell me you never used Ai to make a picture without telling me you never used Ai to make a picture.
I am void of any artistic talent, so I am happy to be able or use Stable Diffusion to make my character portraits for D&D.
The way my workflow is it takes between 15 and 20 hours untill I have something that is satisfying enoth to me and captured the person I was envisioning.
And whole I for sure would not call this “Art” or myself an Artist for making them, it defenetly is a gross misrepresentation to say one “just puts some words together”. It’s like saying a painter “just put some paint on a canvas”, or a person working Photoshop just clicks a bit with their mouse.
