I’m looking for a buy-new quality floor lamp. When it comes to desk lamps, I’ve found a few bankers lamps but I don’t know which company makes the best one.

Floor lamps though, I don’t know where to begin. I’ve heard “Build your own” a few times but I’d prefer a prebuilt or kit rather than buying the parts and making it myself.

Oh boy, my time to shine has finally arrived. I can personally recommend two companies that are top quality. House of Troy makes a great quality lamp and uses a fantastic solid steel loader in the base of most of their lamps which hold up amazing over time as opposed to a lot of lamp manufacterers that use a plastic coated cement or plaster (Those tend to crumble apart after a few years and become a pain to fix). The other brand I would recommend is Stiffel, which is now under the Cutting Edge Industries brand. They bought a lot of the original Stiffel molds, and manufacter solid cast lamps to the original Stiffel quality (and they are US made which is a rarity these days). Both brands are a little more expensive than what you would see at a box store but both will last for decades, needing only minor attention depending on external factors (like sunlight drying out a fabric shade, or the electrical socket needing replacement after years of incandecent bulbs). Source: I have been in the lamp and lamp repair business for 16 years. Id be happy to help you narrow down between choices if you have questions. either way, have a great day.

Bro, this is AWESOME. I’ll look into them more and inevitably come back and ask you some more stuff!

Ok this guy knows his shit. Not gonna lie though, the styles on a lot of these are kinda painful. I’m not sure I’d want to keep any of them for decades.
