If you don’t want to use the full viewing guide… Skip episode 1 of TNG.
I watched all of TNG with my girlfriend at the time. If it was up to episode 1 to convince us to watch, we’d have dropped it instantly. She refused to watch anything past the 20 minutes mark or something and just left, leaving me to watch the rest of the first episode alone, and tbh I don’t blame her. I had to insist that we watched the rest of the show and even researched the online reaction to the first episode to show her that this was an outlier.
We ended up loving TNG, all of it, even the stinkers, except for the first episode.
Thank you. I’ll try out the shitters but I’m keeping this bookmarked just in case…
Going to second a viewing guide. There’s like a thousand hours of Star Trek now, I don’t blame anyone for not sitting through it all. Here is another I’ve used before https://old.reddit.com/r/DaystromInstitute/wiki/algernonguide_tng
I can’t say I agree with all of these - I’m glad I watched Angel One for… reasons…
Same
That was the moment when I was like, “This Ryker guy is amazing. He gives no effs, just goes with it.”
Some my favorite guilty pleasures are the “bad episodes”.
@RampantParanoia2365 @owen agreed, house of quark, body and soul, the ascent - not the best available but highly iconic
