Perdition’s flames… on the side of my face…
“I… hated Kirk… SO MUCH…”
“Captains should be like Kleenex: soft, strong, and disposable.”
(Not gonna lie, I read it as Neelix at first, but the ‘strong’ part didn’t match up)
Cleavage still on point.
Truly art.
For anyone else not in the know.
Madeline Gail Kahn (née Wolfson; September 29, 1942 – December 3, 1999) was an American actress, comedian, and singer. She is known for comedic roles in films directed by Peter Bogdanovich and Mel Brooks, including What’s Up, Doc? (1972), Blazing Saddles (1974), Young Frankenstein (1974), High Anxiety (1977), History of the World, Part I (1981), and her Academy Award–nominated role in Paper Moon (1973).
And if you don’t recognize her go watch some of those movies. She’s one of the comedy greats.
I’m bad with names, and her face didn’t hit right away, so I added the above to help others with the same issue.
I’ve personally seen
allmost of her movies, although it’s been years for some of them. All of them? An impressive feat. I tried to watch them all one time, having seen most of the good ones. Gave up after Yellowbeard. I don’t think there exists a worse movie with as many great people in it.
Yellowbeard is one of those movies with a lot of potential and two or three funny jokes.
You know what, you got me. I can’t say i’ve seen Yellowbeard.
Kahn was known for making her co-stars funnier.
She was great in Paper Moon, which I need to watch again sometime. I’ve only seen part of Blazing Saddles because the DVD I got at the library was scratched all to hell and quit working.
Don’t forget Clue
Thanks for this … always great to learn new info on these great actors.
OMG can you imagine if Khan’s “he tasks me” monologue were done in the style of Mrs. White’s from Clue?!?!?!? Holy shit that would be awesome.
(spoilers for both movies obviously, though only “sort of” for Clue)
Edit: @FlyingSquid@lemmy.world beat me to it
I would watch the absolute shit out of that. She was amazing. Gone too early.
One of the funniest women who ever lived.
It’s twue.
Is that a phaser in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
She’s tired, oh so tired…
There was no editing or photoshop required for that original cleavage … it was just a matter of swapping in a new head and face.
Everything in this post is now accepted as canon.
I can see her playing Lwaxana’s mother. Or sister. Or a dual role as both.

Soon AI will create that movie for us, with Khan being played by Sigourney Weaver, enabling a crossover to the Alien universe. I can’t wait.
