Good luck! Yeah I’m in IT. I already have a third interview scheduled for tomorrow. I think they really want me, which makes sense because I feel really overqualified for the job, but they are paying me enough. But it’s temporary while someone is out on maternity leave and a couple more months to help train them on what I did. I’d rather take something with a longer duration, but the first priority is getting those paychecks coming in again. Who knows maybe they’ll be impressed enough to hire me into a different permanent position.
On the other hand I don’t really even know what the other job entails, and the interview was really impersonal and had barely any interaction beyond demonstrating my coding. I think maybe I’d rather have that one just because it seems more challenging and will keep my skills current on my resume for my next position. I’m going to be in a real conundrum if I get offered the temp job first and then get offered the other one.
For what it’s worth, I only have a two year degree in a totally different field (but too many years of experience, so that helps a lot). Anyway I’m pulling for you. Constantly being on the phone and customer-facing is a really taxing thing. I don’t think I could do it.
