Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby in a deal worth around €40m (£34.6m) plus add-ons.
The 24-year-old had also attracted interest from Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr.
However, the France international has agreed personal terms with the Premier League club and is set to complete a move to Villa Park.
Diaby joined Leverkusen in the summer of 2019 after coming through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain.
Since joining the club, he has become one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting attacking talents scoring 49 goals and providing 48 assists in 172...
It will be interesting to see if they can continue their success from last year. Personally I think they will do well, I just dontnsee them breaking into the top 6.
I could see them battling for that last European spot in 7th place, but I guess that’s also a bit dependent on if Chelsea slips up again this season.
Might not even be needing Chelsea to slip if Spurs do end up selling Kane tbf, I feel like Brighton can’t keep this up forever — especially if they also sell Caicedo.
I don’t see Chelsea coming back this year. Poch will get them playing better but I can’t see how they will fix all their problems in one season.
Over the past 3 windows they have had such high turnover, and they lost a lot of experienced players. I expect half a season of poor results where they sit mid table ish and a good second half where they finish 7th or 8th.
Caceido would help them immensely, they need to sign him badly.
With Europa Conf League games as well, I’m unsure what to expect honestly. We’ve never had to deal with such a busy schedule so it could hurt our chances in the league.
This signing and others are not only about improving our 11, but moreso our depth to handle the increase in games
I think Emery has the talent to keep you guys up near the top 6, but the extra games definitely will create a few issues, especially if you go deep into the competition… it is Emery after all.
Your league success will also depend on those around you and whether they rise to the occasion or drop the ball. Brighton will be a wildcard, but I think they drop out of the top 8. Chelsea should improve but won’t make top 6 IMO. Liverpool should improve but their entirely new midfield is an unknown and I’m curious how long they take to adapt. Tottenham needs a defender and they could be a good team, but they also need goals from someone who isn’t name Kane.
It should be interesting this year in the league.
