    So the only thing stopping you from celebrating the suffering of other people is how closely their political opinions are to yours, and if you feel they’ve acted with negligence in their political support?

    Can you explain how this is not a tribal vendetta?

      These people are causing their own suffering and contributing to that of many many others. Your instinct to boil this down to “political opinions” shows your own bias - since you can’t defend the position itself you must reduce it to “just an opinion”. Anthropogenic climate change is not a political opinion, it’s a real thing that is happening in reality.

      Read the second paragraph again. I explicitly said that I’m not happy about their suffering, regardless of their political opinions.

      It’s just disingenuous to claim that people merely take issue with their opinions when it’s the actions that are the real problem, although that still doesn’t justify schadenfreude.
