friend of mine got evicted because the Landlord wanted to take over the condo for “personal use”. friend paid on time every month, never missed a payment and got evicted. So you’d think the Landlord would move in or move in a family member. nope, Landlord wanted to raise the rent…a lot and evicted my friend.
Friend isn’t an idiot and keeps an eye on the place cause they suspected as much. sure enough a month after being evicted the same place is being listed again online for $1500 more a month. Friend knew it was theres because their microwave they left behind was in the listing photos.
Friend proceeds to take the landlord to small claims court and wins. Now getting that winning judgement from the landlord? yeah not so much.
