I did learn from the video, though, that this is actually quite common in highschool sports.

It is a shocking and scary situation when a young athlete falls to the ground due to a sudden cardiac arrest, but it’s important to remember it’s rare, affecting 2,000 people under the age of 25.

Sudden cardiac arrest among young athletes is rare but not unheard of. An examination of NCAA student-athlete sudden deaths between 2004 and 2008 found cardiovascular-related sudden death was the leading cause of death in 45 cases, or about 9 each year, according to a 2011 study.
