Lol, same thing here. I told my partner “I’ve died about 5 times to the first enemy, so it seems pretty good so far.”
I’ve been enjoying it so far, but this opening area feels very empty. it’s a bit of a shock coming from the base game. A lot of people seemed to think the base game was too big / too empty, those same people would probably say shadow of the erdtree is a horseback riding simulator.
I have no opinions just yet mostly enjoying the sights. My main issue with the main game was less the large world but more the copy paste mines/catacombs/bosses everywhere that got really boring really fast. As long as it doesn’t have that I’m fine, i really enjoy traversing the overworld otherwise. Oh and the
legacy dungeonsheroes graves were actually really shit. Oh look some annoying run and hide from the stupid chariot thing copy pasted over and over why tf.deleted by creator
i’m finding that after Mohg, this area is a relaxing introduction, and I think a lot of underlevelled newbs that just beat Mohg after 3 hours because they rolled three crits in a row are going to enjoy that respite.
Also as someone who enjoys the lore I like being able to get a sense of where and when the setting is (mostly pre-early crucible era dancing beast architecture as expected, but that big tunnel is draconic. Also Tarnished Archaeologist is going to have a field day with the churches showing Goddess Marika and not the ablutions-era Marika seen in the og game opening church.) It’s nice sometimes to just enjoy the world.

kinda feel like the opening area and the introduction to the dlc are deliberately somewhat underwhelming, from has smartly decided to play their hand close to their chest.
That’s half the fun!
I finally beat a major seeming boss and a few mini-dungeons last night after bashing my head against the wall for a while
Finally took down Mogh at lvl 107 and am becoming very aware that 40 vig is not going to be enough around here.

I downloaded Elden Ring. Like 100 gb? I don’t remember. But I was running around the swamps and then a giant dragon just lands on me and instantly kills me
I took a deep breathe and deleted the gams
Imagine not dying to tree sentinel first
You can kill the dragon by like hour 3 or 4 if you’re decent. It took me like 20 so this isn’t a flex. I had to cheese it by role playing as a horse archer
Dying twice in a row to the jumping tutorial in Dark Souls 2 is why I never got Elden Ring.
That chubby dragon with the mangled wings is wrecking me in two seconds flat. I was able to no-hit lion dancer, but this things is somehow too fast for me and I get combo-ed to death every time.
I was soaking in the visuals and he scared the shit out of me lol
Somebody who gets it! The world is like the best part.
My friends all make fun of me because I haven’t left limgrave. I just like walking around there. It’s relaxing af with every aspect of the art design.
Limgrave music is chefs kiss, but Caelid is probably my favorite region.
Fuck, there’s a better one? I might have to progress now.
Milady with the wing stance is so much fun and I can’t wait to lose with it in the Colosseum.
