Horrifying footage captured the moment a young fitness fanatic working out at a gym in Indonesia fell to her death after she stumbled backwards off a treadmill and tumbled out of a third-story wind…
I can tell you that space is a premium here in Asia… Not to mention, the demand for fitness has blown up here over the last 10-15 years, and the number of modern, spacious buildings isn’t so great in the center of cities…
Every inch of space will be utilized, and… Sadly… This led to this disaster.
I used to play computer games at an internet cafe on the third floor of a building - I assume it used to have a veranda because there was this big door that would just open up into space - three story fall to a busy sidewalk below… But the door would frequently be opened and smokers would sit around on chairs blowing their smoke out the door, lol…
To be honest, though, I do not even know if there was some kind of veranda there to begin with, or if it was planned and never constructed. It could just as easily be that, for reasons entirely unknown to even the people who did it, a door was randomly inserted on the third floor that leads out to the sky. This is Asia, my man - it is the only place I have been to that is simultaneously logical & irrational, simultaneously hyper-organized and stratified and pure chaos.
People flying off of treadmills out of open windows is par for the course.
Yes! My guess is that it may result in wires on the floor or just being unaesthetic to the owners so they decided on this…
I can tell you that the one place I exercised in Asia on like the 8th floor had treadmills facing the windows and it was kind of nice to be able to look out at the cityscape.
The irony, of course, is that all the treadmills have those giant monitors in the middle and you got people watching TV and movies while they jog and the monitor obscured the view of the city.
That is crazy. Who puts treadmills a foot away from windows like that?! I’m honestly surprised it doesn’t happen more often in that specific place.

Wouldn’t it take up the same amount of space if they just turned it around so it rocketed you to the middle of the room instead of to your demise?
