I think it’s the usual “it hasn’t impacted me personally, so how bad can it be” maintaining the status quo at all costs.

Once something happens that they care about, they’ll be on the Fediverse that day crowing loudly about how awful Xitter has suddenly become…

Mastodon lacks full-text search, which kills the main reason that Twitter appealed to me, the real-time-updated full-text index.

Elon Musk doesn’t have NPD. And accusing people of being disabled is not an epic burn. It’s only an insult if you think disabled people are worth less than neurotypicals. Sensible people don’t hate the disabled, so calling him a n*rcissist isn’t an insult.

Calling him neurotypical is a bigger insult. Because it implies that all of his weirdness is a choice.

Calling him a narcissist isn’t really an insult either way. It’s just a fact about him. The dude only cares about himself.

Non-clinical narcissism is asexuality, and Elon isn’t asexual.

Why do people always say weird shit like this when they’re defending Republicans?

I’m not defending Elon. I think he’s a hetero neurotypical privileged asshole. It’s you people who want to make up a narrative that he’s a vulnerable minority.

No you’re the one, in multiple threads now, trying to equate narcissism with NPD so you can use victim philosophy to protect narcissism as such, under the rubric that people with personality disorders are minorities like black people.

The density of lies your mind produces is off the charts. Meditate more jesus christ

They are an advocacy group, they go where their audience is. Of you are looking for white dudes what’s the point of looking for them in the fediverse, where 98% of them already agree with you?

Eh, if they were doing it on Mastodon nobody would see their campaigning. And of that tiny amount that do see them, they’d mostly be preaching to the choir.

For an average user you have a point, though.

As people have pointed out, they’re an advocacy group, and trying to reach less aware people. The fact that Elon banned em shows it was most likely working.

The ban lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes. Id guess it was triggered by so many people suddenly joining the account. Musk ain’t great but the hyper sensitivity around him is getting weird.

What a coincidence, a strong liberal fundraising account getting banned just as Musk promises to donate $45mil/month to the Trump campaign and complains about the “woke mind virus.” I’m sure you can point to similar conservative accounts getting banned and staying banned for several hours right?

Except that no reason for the ban was given. If the ban was due to a sudden uptick in followers, why wasn’t that reason sent along with the ban? And then there is the timing which coincided with the fundraiser. All of this on top of Musk publicly declaring his endorsement of Trump and the promise of finding his campaign. Too many “coincidences” are a clear indication of intent.
