GoRetroid Announces The Retroid Pocket Mini | Time Extension

GoRetroid recently unveiled its latest handheld, the Retroid Pocket Mini, in an intriguing teaser video. While the announcement doesn’t provide extensive details on specs, price, or release date, it does give us a glimpse of what we can expect from this new device.

  • Design: The Retroid Pocket Mini promises to be significantly smaller than its predecessors but retains some characteristics like dual-LED joysticks, D-pad positioned on the upper left, and face buttons (X,Y,B,A) on the right. It features stacked shoulder buttons, a 4:3 screen, and three inputs for charging, headphones, and SD cards.

  • Potential Release: Given GoRetroid’s history of teasing details slowly, we might see more information in the near future about this device which is poised to bring nostalgic gaming experiences into a compact form factor.

Are you a fan of the Retroid handhelds? How do you expect this device to compare with the equivalents from PowKiddy or Anbernic?

Does it feel snappier? Before settling on the 4 Pro I was deciding whether or not an Anbernic RG35XXH would feel any different being Linux-based as well.

In game there’s no difference unless you are emulating a game at the limits of the CPU (like some N64 games).

The 4pro will let you play games that the 35xxh can’t do smoothly.

Menuwise, OnionOS etc are much snappier and easier to setup than Android front ends.
