Soviet anti-smoking anti-drinking ads are cool.
They sure were. They seemed to go both ways, at times… full embrace of alcohol and complete disownment of the devils drink. My knowledge of Russian people is skin deep at best but it seems like there was a cultural love of booze, which had to be tempered with the communist desire to have clarity of mind/body/spirit.
It’s an interesting juxtaposition. If I knew more timelines of when propaganda posters were released, it might point me towards understanding the time frames for the pushes in both directions.
But where will I go?
