I just installed Cosmic (Pop_OS! 22.04) into my second laptop, Thinkpad X270. Using it with bluetooth headphones is a bit annoying. It gives audio only on right side when using the high quality option. In hands-free mode audio comes out of both sides.
Is there a fix which I could apply by myself? Cosmic doesn’t offer (yet) a built-in balance adjustment so I don’t know if it’s just the balance.
Still it’s the best desktop and especially cosmic app store is best I’ve ever tried, including mobile.
I use pavucontrol-qt for managing this stuff. It works great. It gives you a selection of the available codecs in the configuration tab.
I’ve given up on bluetooth and linux, I had trouble getting the high quality codecs to work consistently on either COSMIC or Gnome PopOS. Keeps defaulting to the low quality codecs.
Now I just use my DAC and wired headphones with a 3 meter cord
I have a similar problem with my system (not on cosmic yet) where no matter how I connect them, I only get mono, but in both sides…
Try installing blueman or another bluetooth utility
Run blueman and select a different, high quality codec after you connect (you’ll probably have to do this every time you connect)
I think blueman is what I’m using now, I’ll try a different codec. Thanks!
