based on this meme, I decided to initiate a little November nut identification challenge on Lemmy. After two days (#8, #9) on !treehuggers@slrpnk.net, today !birding@lemmy.world is requested to proof their nut knowledge.

Sorry I was out on a hike since I posted the challenge in the morning. And yes, you were meant to find the “nut” and you did a perfect job in doing so. It is indeed a Eurasian Nuthatch! 🎉
I didn’t want to make it too easy, so I explicitly chose a picture with not only the bird itself but also some seeds as a red herring. ;)
