I honestly don’t know what’s going on there. The sole mod and contributor of the community keeps posting low quality shit purely to bash on Linux and people kept calling him out in the posts and getting banned from the comm for that.
Now I noticed the same mod has just locked comments on all posts to prevent having to ban anyone commenting on their memes
Maybe it does not violate any “moderation” rules but it does definitely violate lemmy.world TOS on several counts
Which ones does it violate, maybe we should get lemmy.world admins on this. I mean they’ve acted on his community before when he used an ableist slur, but they don’t seem to have done much else lately. Though they also might not be aware of how much it has devolved.
As far as I remember: “Attack on people”, “Do not harm(possibly a stretch)” and possibly another one. Granted I do not care for dark humor or vulgar language(even against my own beliefs) but it is very different when it is constant targeting like with this community.
Hmm yeah, that makes sense. Some things there could be considered spam as well, the same way that someone making nonsensical meaningless posts would be not okay (posts like this would probably be considered in that category, and this is most of all that’s been posted there lately).
@kersploosh@lemmy.world What do you think? Does this seem like it goes against LW’s TOS or User conduct rules? Personally I feel like !linuxsucks@lemmy.world is skirting the boundary but there’s times it goes too far.
Agree, even if it does not violate any rule now there should be a rule on communities based purely on bad intent/faith. I’ve seen the posts and while ridicule/comedy is fine, it takes the next step of trying to humiliate people.
A counter example would be some of the memes I have uploaded to c/linuxmemes, it makes fun of our biases and defects but never insulting people.
He didnt respond to my ban appeal request, which is a requirement of moderators.
