There are so many awesome devices to experience classic games on now its mind blowing. Wasn’t aware of this one. Like that it has a docking station for big screen play.

If you are looking for a cheap handheld the RG35XX has micro HDMI port and handles up to PSX pretty good.

That said a surprising amount of devices have video out. Even the RG350, a relatively early device in the emulation scene, has video out.

I got an Rg35xxx about a month ago and it has been fantastic!! I didn’t replace the stock OS as a lot of folks suggested because the stock one already has everything that I need it to do. If I had one complaint, it would be that the battery isn’t great. I haven’t had it die on me while out and about yet, but it can cut it close. Overall, I highly recommend it for someone into retrogaming old gameboy advanced -ish era games.

You may want to try playing it until it dies. I think various firmwares, including the official one, have had issues accurately displaying the battery level.

Yeah it’s a really nice handheld. It’s Fpga based that can play from carts and the screen is gorgeous for GB and SNES.

What do you think of it? I know a lot of people end up playing ROMs on them anyway so I’ve really had trouble understanding all the hype

I’m very happy with it. Most of the time I use roms on the SD card but the screen and original form factor are great for GB games. Certain games I use the cartridge for the display modes. The DMG filter is amazing, it even replicates the ghosting on the original system.

If you’re a Gameboy enthusiast, you’ll love the device and the bonus of playing other systems and arcade games is icing on the cake. Otherwise, a cheaper handheld or a steam deck would be a better option.

I’ve used a range of emulation focused handhelds in the past with the latest being the RG35XX but the filters of the Analogue Pocket do sound nice

I got my pocket in the first wave of releases, but I held off on the dock until earlier this year. My dock arrived a few days ago and I love it.

After using modded Gameboys and various emulators, the pocket is my favorite hand held. I still prefer the form factor ofa Gameboy micro, but the pocket’s screen can’t be beat.

The dock is a nice way to top access those same games on a big screen, but I don’t think the pocket is the best option if you only want to play on a tv.
