With the progressive “resistance” quiet ahead of Donald Trump’s second term, congressional Democrats are making their own shift: They’re turning away from past portrayals of Trump as a human wrecking ball and toward more potential collaboration.
After ignoring a Republican crackdown on undocumented immigration for months last year, Senate Democrats holstered their filibuster power on Thursday and prepared to work on the bill — which Trump could end up signing into law thanks to their support. Democrats are currently debating whether to also advance a GOP plan to debate sanctions on the International Criminal Court for targeting Israeli leaders with arrest warrants.
On top of that, several Democrats met this week with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
There literally is…
The chair election is a few weeks away, and there’s lots of good candidates.
If they fuck it up on 2/3 I’ll be right here talking shit, but now is the worst time in over a decade to act like there’s no chance.
It’s been the worst time for probably over a decade if not longer, and they’re still not getting it. I mean not much else to do than hope this will finally be a turning point, but if they’d rather cozy up to Trump and Israel than their own progressive wing…
It sounds like you haven’t heard anything about the candidates for chair then.
Or they just know the DNC.
I mean those candidates will only matter if they win.
I just watched an interview where a senior dem was asked if they learned their lesson from this massive loss. He sidestepped and squirmed around. I have no confidence that they’ll stop moving to the right.
Good thing he’s unlikely to be a voting member of the DNC…
The list was leaked last week if you want to check.
