I think you misread the comment that you originally replied to. They are saying exactly the opposite of what you are saying here. “It’s NOT […] just shallow positivity”
Still a tad cynical, though, since even the “shallow” wholesome memes still have good intentions most of the time (spreading a tiny bit of positivity is better than spreading negativity) - though I can understand the perspective that if it’s too shallow it can rub you the wrong way especially if you’re having a bad day (“just cheer up!” etc.)
