    I do feel bad, yeah.

Having bad taste in vehicles and too much money to spend on stupid things doesn’t really warrant destruction of property. Being mostly unaware of the political statements of a CEO (which, at the time of the Cybertruck’s release or when people were ordering it he wasn’t nearly as deep into this crap as he is now) isn’t really a crime either…

    Well…

    A bit, yeah.

By and large the market for the Tesla cybertruck is going to be people with more money than sense. Those people I can’t really have any sympathy for. My advice to them is to park the truck in your garage and drive literally anything else that you own from what is sure to be a selection of different cars.

For those that purchased a CT at the end of their finances, and could only barely afford to justify it, I feel for them. They can’t easily buy something else to drive, and the contract forbids them from selling anytime soon. They put in their orders long before Musk was actively demonstrating how much of a shit head he really is. These people are just regular folks who wanted a truck, bought the Tesla branded sales pitch, and thought it was a good investment over alternatives like rivian. IMO, they’re victims just as much as the government employees that used to work in DEIA departments, and USAID.

Then people are taking out their frustration and causing material harm to those duped by the world’s richest man… Double jeopardy.

None of what Elon did is their fault. People are causing them material harm. You’re not hurting Elon with these shenanigans, and you don’t know that the person who is suffering is a part of the same club that Elon is. Err on the safe side and leave people’s property alone, please.

I don’t like Elon, and I don’t like Tesla. I have no sympathy for either if they go down in flames. I do, however, feel bad for all those who are being materially harmed by all this horse shit. They didn’t ask for this, they just wanted an electric car that goes vroom on batteries.

Leon prominently threw in with the nazis a couple months before the CT started shipping. People so thoroughly ignoring politics and red flags until they themselves are hurt is precisely why we’re in this whole mess. Why are you carrying water for them, when of all the people that have been hurt by all this they are among the people who had it best until now and had the clearest warning signs to date?

These aren’t commuter cars, or work vehicles, there is no practical reason to own one. They are a status symbol of musks politics. The venn diagram of people who own these and wear maga hats is essentially a single circle. There is a daily growing number of struggling american families who deserve sympathy and almost every one of the folks who paid six figures of disposable income for the opportunity to support musks politics are not victims.

I like the look and still kind of want one, maybe I can pick one up cheap from someone selling.

Also I think trump and maga are stupid.

Buy a ugly vehicle that looks like a third graders drawing to be seen. Now being seen is a liability. Too bad so sad… I’m not sad.

Bought the car just to get attention and you’re getting the attention. I don’t see the problem. You got exactly what you wanted. It’s a fuck ugly car that’s shit quality. You bought it just because you wanted to be noticed. Well, play dumb games, win dumb prizes.

More like, idiots destroy our cities and towns with their giant wankpanzers and then they cry like babies when people fight back.

If you don’t want people to destroy your swatzicar then 1. don’t buy a nazi vehicle and 2. Don’t buy a truck with the highest traffic fatality rate of any vehicle. Your freedom of self expression ends where your choice kills other people

From a purely legal perspective, I’m curious if the contract would hold up in court, considering there is a concerted campaign of vandalism against the cars.

Elmo was visibly A Problem well before launching this drug-fueled mockery of engineering. It sounds silly for like five minutes after learning about it. Then you see one in person and it’s just… eugh. Who buys this shit? Who buys this shit in spite of the aggressively public figurehead being a fucking Nazi?

Yup. I have pity for owners of Tesla from pre-2018. There were some pretty problematic things before that, but that year, with his violations of SEC orders to not do security fraud, and his heavy projection onto that hero who saved the kids in the cave, is the last time they could have any benefit of the doubt.

Sorry, no sympathy. I have some sympathy for the Tesla owners who bought theirs years ago before Musk went completely mask off. But Musk has been an overt Nazi since the first cybertruck was released. Do you know what you call an Apartheid baby that platforms and massively promotes Nazis in the name of “free speech” while censoring other voices (see ‘cis’ as a slur). You call them a Nazi. Musk has been dealing in overt racism, malignant transphobia, and eugenics for years now. If you simply didn’t care about this, and still gave that many $100k of your money? I’m sorry, but you just gave $100k to a man you knew was a Nazi. You’re a literal Nazi sympathizer. Or, at best, you’re a person who cares so little about fighting Nazis that you will willingly give the nation’s most prominent Nazi a hundred grand.

So yes, it is absolutely is fair to judge people who bought a cybertruck. They’re Nazi sympathizers. I don’t know if I would personally engage in such vandalism. But if I was on a jury with such a case before me, I would certainly be practicing jury nullification. Some paint or flat tires is a fraction of what a car like that deserves. That thing should be burned to ashes. That is what should really be done to Nazi symbols like the cybertruck. Here in 2025, if you are driving a cybertruck. There is no way for you to have that vehicle without having every chance in the world to see buying it directly supports Nazis. Every cybertruck is already a rolling swastika.

This is actually a friend’s car. I haven’t commented on her post because it would be something like “I’m surprised my (model 3) hasn’t been vandalized but I wouldn’t blame the person who did it”.

I recently saw a model 3 with a bumper sticker that said “I bought this before Elon went crazy”

Might be worth the investment in the coming months lol.

I bought this before Elon went crazy

I wonder how many people actually mean that, and how many people use it to protect their nazimobile from damage. Because he went openly crazy 7 years ago this year as far as I’m concerned. This isn’t just a “since he owned Twitter” thing.

Google search results on election night showed that hundreds of thousands of Americans didn’t know that Biden had dropped out of the election until they went to vote.

People are not nearly as informed as you think they are.

Yeah, I knew something was wrong with Musk after the Thailand diver incident, but I didn’t know that Musk was a completely evil Nazi pos until he got involved in the 2024 election
